| Location: South Africa » Kwazulu Natal The scenic Dolphin Coast stretches northward from De Mercy Beach to the banks of the Tugela River, a distance of approximately 90 km. This stretch of coastline is characterized by beautiful beaches, protected coves and rock pools. It offers a wide variety of water sports including diving and snorkeling. The Hazelmere Dam and Public Resort, a well known international waterskiing venue and playground for powerboaters, is situated close by, inland from Verulam. Apart from water sports, the area around the dam offers various trails where one can enjoy the abundant birdlife and coastal forests. The area borrows it’s name from the schools of Bottlenose Dolphins which frequent the Indian Ocean coastline, playing in the waves almost every day of the year.
