The Northern Drakensberg covers an area stretching from Royal Natal National Park in the North through Mweni to Cathedrak Peak in the south.The most famous of all the Northern Drakensberg features is the World famous Amphitheatre

This massive Northern Drakensberg wall stretches 4 Kilometers between the Sentinel (3165M) and the Eastern Buttress (3047M). Other famous peaks in the area are: Mont-aux-Sources, the Inner Tower and the Devils Tooth, to name but a few. The Tugela Falls plummets 948m in five clear leaps, making it the highest waterfall series in the world.

KZN Wildlife offers Self Catering accommodation at Tendele Hutted Camp and Mahai Camping Grounds. There are also privately managed Resorts, Hotels and Chalets within and around Royal Natal all offering self Catering facilities.

The Northern Drakensberg is accessed via the historic towns of Bergville and Winterton and also Harrismith in the North.
