Directions

FROM JOHANNESBURG (5 HOURS) From Johannesburg take the N12 East to Witbank. At the Delmas turn-off take the R50 South to Delmas, Leandra, Standerton. At Standerton take the R23 South to Volksrust. At Volksrust take the N11 to New Castle. 18km past New Castle take the R621 to Dannhauser-Hattingspruit and Dundee. Drive through Dundee en-route to Vryheid on the R33. After 2 km you will pass the Talana Museum on your left. Continue for a further 5 km until the R68 turn off to Nqutu-Melmoth-Ulundi, turn right. Travel 26 km on R68 look out for turn off to Rorke's Drift on your right, opposite Eskom sub station. Turn right onto dirt road and carry on for 7 km. At tee junction turn left towards Rorke's Drift. Travel for 12 km into Rorke's Drift. Go beyond Rorke’s Drift Museum and turn right at our sign board. Proceed straight for 4.8 km along a farm road to the lodge. Recommended speed 20km/hr FROM DURBAN (4 HOURS) Take the N3 North to Johannesburg. Take the off ramp [230] to Ladysmith on the N11. Pass through Ladysmith on the N11 to Newcastle. After 20km (Elandslaagte) take the R601 to Dundee via Glencoe. Drive through Dundee en-route to Vryheid on the R33. After 2 km you will pass the Talana Museum on your left. Continue for a further 5 km until the R68 turn off to Nqutu-Melmoth-Ulundi, turn right. Travel 26 km on R68 look out for turn off to Rorke's Drift on your right, opposite Eskom sub station. Proceed straight for 4.8 km along a farm road to the lodge. Recommended speed 20km/hr FROM HLUHLUWE / UMFOLOZI AREA (4 HOURS) From Empangeni take the R34 (R66) to Melmoth. Drive through Melmoth on the route R66 to Ulundi. After +- 4 km take the R68 left to Babanango and Nqutu. Caution: after +- 20km watch out for R68 turn to the right. Drive past Babanango for +- 47km on the R68. Look out for the turn-off on your left, marked Isandlwana. Follow gravel road past Isandlwana for 9km, turn left onto the D30 (big tree on corner) towards Rorke’s Drift. After 10km turn left at the T-junction to Rorke’s Drift. Go beyond Rorke’s Drift Museum and turn right at our sign board. Proceed straight for 4.8 km along a farm road to the lodge. Recommended speed 20km/hr FROM THE KRUGER PARK AREA (6 HOURS) Make your way to Nelspruit. Nelspruit/Badplaas via Barberton. Badplaas/Piet Retief via Amsterdam. Piet Retief/Vryheid via Paulpietersburg (R33). Vryheid/Dundee, after +-63 look out for turning to Nqutu/Melmoth/unlundi (just after Battlrfields Country Lodge. Turn left the R68. Travel 26 km on R68 look out for turn off to Rorke's Drift on your right, opposite Eskom sub station. Turn right onto dirt road and carry on for 7 km. At tee junction turn left towards Rorke's Drift. Travel for 12 km into Rorke's Drift. Go beyond Rorke’s Drift Museum and turn right at our sign board. Proceed straight for 4.8 km along a farm road to the lodge.
