A 50 hectare reserve within the estate has been demarcated as conservation areas providing a refuge to the rich variety of local flora & fauna. Pathways and wooden viewing decks through out these areas allow residents to interact with nature.

Zimbali has several natural springwater lakes which create a beautiful habitat to the 85
species of bird, hosts of butterflies and a wide variety of indigenous plant life. Animal life within the forest reserve include bush buck, blue duiker, bushbaby, vervet monkey, banded mongoose and even wild pig. The eastern frontage of the estate comprises a 3 km stretch of unspoilt beach forming a natural golden boundary between the rich green forest and the warm blue Indian Ocean.

All rooms at Fairmont Zimbali Lodge offer five-star luxury, designed to harmonise in tone and style with the natural surrounding forest. The African classical architecture is complemented by warm wood tones which occur throughout.

Bathrooms are luxurious with freestanding Victorian baths and delightful attention to detail. Each room is well stocked with a selection of hot beverages, light snacks and a mini bar. Butlers are on hand to attend to guests’ every need.

The architectural design philosophy preserves and enhances the innate harmony of the environment. The 76 guest rooms complement the natural surrounding forest and the classical architecture is accentuated by warm wood and russet autumn tones.

The bathrooms are luxurious and feature Victorian baths from the turn of the century. Personal Butlers attend to the guest's every need. The cuisine at the lodge is superb and caters for the varied tastes of discerning guests

Children

Please note that while 1 young child can be accommodated on a sleeper couch in the standard rooms, if there is more than 1 child they may have to be accommodated in a seperate room depending on their ages (8 years and above usually). The standard rooms do not have interleading doorways. A suite can be used with an optional twin room adjoined.

The accommodations at Fairmont Zimbali Lodge consist of 76 rooms situated in individual lodges, two lodges of 8 rooms and six lodges of 10 rooms, located away from the main Lodge and set in magnificent subtropical gardens.

Camelot International runs the Health & Beauty spa at Zimbai. The international range of Matis beauty products are used. Treatments and therapies include: One, two or three-day programmes incorporating health, skin and body treatments as well as hydrotherapy, skin exfoliation, aromatherapy and reflexology.
