The Lodge is nestled between two estuaries, which creates a beautiful protected bay from where dolphin and whale watching excursions are launched. The southern estuary is a heritage site of significant conservation importance, being a breeding place for the rare Redwinged Pratincole. There is excellent fishing, both from the shore as well as deep sea. Jet-ski fishing was born here, where the protected bay allows for easy launching (recognised launch site) and access. There is also a designated beach area for jet skiing.
