Description

Pongola is situated in a valley in the foothills of the Lebombo Mountains. It is mainly a sugar farming area, but tropical and citrus fruit are cultivated with success, as well as cotton.

 Pongola is on the Kingfisher Tourism Route, and there are plenty to see. A visit to Illovo Sugar Mill can be arranged when you will be taken on a guided tour through the Mill.

An airstrip is situated on the outskirts of Pongola Town. Medical facilities are easily accessible with a newly renovated hospital and trauma unit in town, and trauma trained doctors.

We have a backup generator for all our electricity needs.

Accommodation

En-suite accommodation available in Pongola. Set in a tranquil, secure environment, this is an absolute must. The accommodation consists of a double room with shower, basin and toilet. A bar fridge, television and air-conditioning is available in each room. Outside you have use of a swimming pool, braai area, safe parking for your vehicle and a laundry room.

To See
Within easy travelling distance, there are various private game reserves, including the big 5 that can be seen in lovely natural habitat. Mkuze area is famous for bird watching, as well as Pongolapoort Game Reserve including Jozini Dam which is famous for Tiger Fishing. A relaxing day can also be spent at the 9-hole golf course, tennis courts and the bowling green at the Sugar Mill.

Day visits can be made to historical places where the Zulu Kingdom originated, fought wars, cultivated land and grazed cattle.
